A Christmas Wish….

The Dining Room Tree-My daughter does amazing work!

New tree this year…need some more ornaments! Guess what I’m doing during the next year….yep, making some ornaments to put on the tree.

So, all of us that celebrate Christmas have the understanding of a Christmas Wish.  I mean, let’s be real here.  For those of us that celebrate Christmas, that means that we are Christian and celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.  Yep, I am not going to tell any crazy stories.  I do believe in Jesus Christ as my Savior, and I do wish Jesus a Happy Birthday on every 25th of December.  However, the idea of a Christmas Wish...yeah, that has an interesting turn of interpretations, at least for me.

Last week you read my favorite childhood memory of Christmas.  It hugely involved Santa Claus.  As a child, we see Santa as being a magical being that delivers presents.  As a small child, we find so much joy in waking up in the early Christmas morning with presents under the tree and a stocking full of goodies.

We sent letters or went to stores to see Santa, and it was amazing when the gifts arrived under the tree on Christmas morning. For a child, the magic of Santa and Christmas is one of the most memorable and magical times of the year.  There truly is nothing like it.  Add the lights on houses, your Christmas tree, the gift giving and dinners with friends and family… it just evokes a true giving time of the year.  All of it adds to the magic.  I mean, seriously, when did any small child care about dinners and get-togethers with family?  (LOL)  However, they are embedded in my memory for the rest of my life, and I love that I have those memories that I can hold close to my heart.

Within that magic that is created during this time of year, we find it possible to make a Christmas wish.  It is the one time of year that we can believe that our wish just may be granted.  You may believe in Jesus Christ and he just may answer your prayer or wish, you may believe in the simple magic of Christmas, or it may be a carry-over of you as a small child believing in Santa.  No matter the reason, we have all held hope, we have all felt the magic, and we have all made a Christmas wish at one time or another during our lives.

As I stare into the beautiful lights on the Christmas Tree, my heart begins to feel the magic becoming alive inside me.  Therefore, on this Christmas Eve, I wanted to take a moment to share my Christmas wish with all of you.  My wish is:  that each one of you know, feel, and understand just how special and wonderful you are; that you know just how powerful and capable you are; and you truly understand how much of a difference you make in the world.  When you believe these things to be true:  you can find peace and happiness (even in chaos or challenging times); you can find hope; and, most importantly, you can find love for yourself and for others.  May Santa, Jesus, and the magic of Christmas hear my wish, because this is where the spreading of beauty and joy in the world begins….it begins with YOU!

Merry Christmas to you, your families, and your friends!

Until next time, may you continued to be inspired, productive, and joyful!  And may you never stop making your dreams in quilting come true!

XO-
