I realized while writing a recap of the week that because getting that product rolling took more time than we realized, I didn’t get much quilting done this week. However, I did get all the T-shirts cut to size for one of the T-shirt quilts I am building for a client. If you know me, you know that I absolutely hate the cutting part of making quilts. But, as a necessary evil, it does get done. I also am designing a table runner with placements to match it. I am at the part of writing the design to be able to share my pattern with you. I am hoping to have it available by May.
Lastly, I found something “sew” interesting this week. I have wanted to do a tutorial for you all about how to make Hexies using English Paper Piecing (EPP). The interesting part is that this week alone, I have seen, read, or heard many people wanting to learn more about how do it. Although I am not a fan of hand sewing, I do love making my hexies. EPP is a great beginner type of quilting to learn, and there are so many things beyond that that you can take it to. Some of the advanced EPP quilts are amazing! Therefore, I had a little fire to work on that hit me. It is an April goal that you can look forward to seeing under the “Inspirations” tab on our website. Just curious if you have a media preference for the tutorial (video or reading with pics)?
After the EPP, I am soooo going to talk about ¼” seam allowances. I think it is one of the biggest frustrations that I see amongst quilters. It isn’t hard to understand. But with so many not really teaching the correct idea of it, I see how so many quilters can be frustrated with their finished blocks. Therefore, that truly is top of my list.
Until next time, may you continued to be inspired, productive, and joyful! And never stop making your dreams in quilting come true!
