Another Way to Applique!!

This adorable and decorative pumpkin on a pumpkin is just the fast project to give some pizazz to your table or desk!
Join Ann as she teaches us how to make this project with a different way to appliqué. The techniques that will be given inside this workshop are: Selection of image, preparation for appliqué, transfer to fabric. Pumpkin design supplied. Zigzag edge of pieces to secure on background fabric and for decoration. Free motion quilting on images and background. Machine binding. Below you will find fabric & batting requirements that may be in your stash! However, she is offering a kit for only $5.00. The kit included is enough to make 1 project. Kits are limited and while supplies last.
Supplies:
One light solid or mottle for the background, backing and “hanger.”
(1) rectangle background 10” X 12”
(1) rectangle backing 12” X 14”
(2) 4.5” Squares for Hanger
(1) 4” X 5” fabric brown for stems
(1) 8” X 9” piece orange or rust for back squash
(1) 7” X 8” different orange or rust with some contrast for front pumpkin
(1) 2.5” strip of print for binding
Matching thread for the darks and background.
Batting: 12” x 14”
Permanent fabric marker, brown or black (if you have one) for marking vines.
Acrylic frame: 8” x 10” (can be purchased at HALO)
Rotary cutter with fresh blade
Rulers & Mat (12” square, 6” X 24” recommended), 11” X 17” or larger self-healing mat.
We do have 2 cutting tables with mats available to use. However, you are always welcome to bring one of your own.
Scissors to trim fabric 1/8” from stitching line.
Pencil, pen and a few sheets of typing paper or a small dry board with marker.
Sewing machine (with cord, foot pedal, bobbins, manual, presser feet: straight & zig zag stitch, open toe, darning/quilting, and walking). Lubricating the machine and a new needle
Lubricating the machine and a new needle (12/80 or 14/90 microtex, sharp, or topstitch) recommended.
Quilt sandwich approximately 12” square with a top fabric, batting, and bottom fabric to practice free motion quilting, and to test stitch length, width, and balance.
